County Line Fire

County Line Fire is a hard-driving, road-worn song about desire, restlessness and the kind of love that refuses to cool down.

With dust on his boots, trouble in the rearview and an engine carrying him through the night, the narrator keeps moving — but everything on the road seems to lead back to the same person. A porch light becomes a dare, another hard turn becomes an escape, and the county line marks the place where longing turns into something almost combustible.

The repeated “County line fire” chorus gives the song a simple, immediate hook, while the darker imagery underneath it paints a man caught somewhere between running away and turning around.

By the breakdown, the truth finally comes into focus: she may have started it, but he is the one who kept it burning.

A gritty, restless song built for headlights, two-lane blacktop and a heart running hotter than it should.

Lyrics

Dust on my boots Cold beer in the hand Two-lane ribbon Cutting through this land Your name in the visor My heart on the dash I been running hot Burning up too fast Hear that engine moan Feel the night lean in One more hard turn And I’m gone again Trouble in my rearview Truth in my veins If you want me now Baby say my name County line fire County line fire Burning through my bones County line fire County line fire I can’t make it home Neon on my shirt Gravel in my teeth I keep my promises Mean as I keep my peace Your porch light blinking Like a dare in the dark I know that look It can leave a mark Hear that engine moan Feel the night lean in One more hard turn And I’m gone again Trouble in my rearview Truth in my veins If you want me now Baby say my name County line fire County line fire Burning through my bones County line fire County line fire I can’t make it home I got hell in the headlights And salt on my tongue A busted old moon And a heart full of drums If I go down swinging Let the whole town see That you were the spark And the flame was me County line fire County line fire Burning through my bones County line fire County line fire I can’t make it home
