Christmas South Of Nowhere cover

Christmas South Of Nowhere

AN-26 · Blues Rock · Texas Blues-Rock · 12 September 2026

Christmas has found its way to a little desert roadhouse in a place not quite good enough to call nowhere.

There is no snow, no elegant decorations and certainly no silent night. Instead, there are motorcycles cooling outside, chopped hot rods under red neon, black leather, cold beer, whisky glasses and a battered black plastic Christmas tree decorated with little red hearts.

“Christmas South of Nowhere” is a hard-driving Christmas blues-rock boogie built on dirty electric guitars, a fat bass line and pounding drums, with just enough sleigh bell and cowbell to remind everyone what time of year it supposedly is.

It is a Christmas song for drifters, bikers, misfits and anybody still rolling down the highway when everybody else has gone home.

No snow required.

Merry Christmas from somewhere south of nowhere. 🎄🏍️🎸

Lyrics

There's a blacktop ribbon underneath the moon Three old Harleys gonna roll in soon Snow ain't falling, just the desert sand And a plastic Santa's missing half a hand There's a chopped-down Chevy by the neon sign Red lights blinking like a warning line Black leather angels at the end of the bar Celebrating Christmas where the lost things are No silver bells, no mistletoe Just a jukebox humming soft and low Then somebody grins and plugs her in— And that dirty old guitar begins It's Christmas south of nowhere Where the highway lost its name Black tree with little red hearts Dancing in the neon flame Raise your glass to the drifters To the ones still rolling through We ain't got snow for Christmas But we got the Christmas blues There's a wreath tied crooked to a motorcycle Candy cane hanging from the clutch cable Bartender's wearing an old red hat Over black Ray-Bans—imagine that Somebody brought a fruitcake nobody'll eat So it's holding up the jukebox on one broken feet And outside underneath that desert sky Eight chrome reindeer would probably pass us by No choir singing, no church bell sound Just a bass guitar shaking the bottles around Kick that snare and let that six-string loose Christmas Eve got nothing left to lose It's Christmas south of nowhere Where the highway lost its name Black tree with little red hearts Dancing in the neon flame Raise your glass to the drifters To the ones still rolling through We ain't got snow for Christmas But we got the Christmas blues Somewhere they're singing peace on Earth Under trees worth half a month's worth Out here peace is a vacant stool And nobody asking where you've been It's Christmas south of nowhere Fire that old V-twin Put another log on nothing We ain't got a fireplace in Raise your glass to the drifters Every bastard passing through Merry Christmas from nowhere— And a loud HO-HO-HO to you! Jingle bells over a filthy blues guitar riff Black tree... Red hearts... Cold beer... Hot starts... Merry Christmas, baby.
