**Born To Roll** is a hard-driving Texas blues rock boogie about a restless soul who was never made to stay in one place for long.
Powered by a fast two-step shuffle, snarling slide guitar, Hammond organ, baritone sax and a walking bass line, the song carries the loose, sweaty energy of a 1970s live room. The groove keeps pushing forward with the same determination as its narrator — a man moving from town to town, job to job and road to road, always leaving a little dust behind him.
Beneath the swagger, however, there is a quieter thought. Porch lights sometimes look inviting, and somewhere in the distance there might be a place where his boots could finally stay beside the door. But when morning comes, the road calls again and the engine starts humming.
With its infectious **“Born to roll”** refrain, bruised defiance and relentless forward motion, **Born To Roll** is a blues-boogie celebration of the people who may occasionally wonder what it would be like to settle down — but know deep inside that they were born to keep moving.

Lyrics
I left my name in a motel drawer
One town down, I was hungry for more
Six-pack warm on the dash at dawn
Just me and the miles when the sun came on
Every sign says stay
I peel out anyway
Got a map in my head
And a bed I never made
Born to roll, born to roll
Can't tie me down, can't hold my soul
Born to roll, born to roll
I leave a little dust on every road
(Born to roll)
One train whistle, one two-bit job
Then the night got loud and the money was gone
Packed my shirt in a paper sack
Didn't look back when the tires hit black
Every porch light glows
Like a place I almost know
But the dawn comes clean
And it pulls me back to the road
Born to roll, born to roll
Can't tie me down, can't hold my soul
Born to roll, born to roll
I leave a little dust on every road
(Born to roll)
Maybe one day I'll find a place
With my boots by the door and a simple face
But tonight I'm gone
With the engine humming on and on
Born to roll, born to roll
Can't tie me down, can't hold my soul
Born to roll, born to roll
I leave a little dust on every road
(Born to roll)
One more town
One more mile
Same old grin
Same wild style
Born to roll (born to roll)
Born to roll (born to roll)
